President Of The CDI Party Wishes Smooth Election’s Tomorrow

Phnom Penh: Chairman of the International Center for Democratic Party (CDI) Andrés Pastrana Arango announced that he will observe the Commune / Sangkat Council elections on Sunday, 5th June tomorrow and wishes the election process to go smoothly and successful. He said this during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen on Saturday morning, 4th June.

During a meeting with PM Hun Sen, CDI Chairman, Andres Pastrana said that he was honored to be the observer of the 2022 Commune / Sangkat Council Election, which he said was his third visit. His first visit was in 2017 Commune / Sangkat Council Election and the 2018 National Assembly Election. He wishes the election process and success tomorrow.

He also shared his condolences to Prime Minister for the loss of his brother, Hun Neng.

In response, PM Hun Sen thanked Mr. Andres for sharing his condolences and also informed him about the success of the roll out of the vaccine against Covid-19, which resulted in the success of helping Cambodia to still hold elections without worries.

He thanked Mr. Andres for leading the CDI delegation to observe the election tomorrow.

The 5th Commune / Sangkat Council Election will be held on 5th June, with 17 political parties taking part. Total number seats of 11,622 in 1,652 Commune/Sangkat Council seats nationwide with more than 9.2 million registered voters.
